According to the artist, Joey Donatelli, their take on the ‘You Belong’ design is inspired by the youthful, bubbly, playfully, rebellious aesthetic trends of the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Being that Planet Fitness has their roots in the 90’s, Joey wanted to create something that paid homage to this growingly nostalgic era. “Since Planet Fitness’ inception, total inclusivity has been at the forefront of the brand which, in my opinion, makes their presence in the gym sector inherently groundbreaking.” ‘It was such a pleasure for Joey to work with Planet Fitness and they look forward to future collaborations”

About the Artist: Joey Donatelli (they/them) is a queer, non-binary graphic designer and digital illustrator based in Baltimore, MD. A self-proclaimed real-life cartoon character, Joey believes that life should never be boring, and their candy-coated, nostalgia-fueled portfolio enthusiastically reflects this sentiment. Alongside their design work, they are also a digital content creator and toy enthusiast, primarily posting toy-related content on their TikTok with the simple goal of healing their own inner child while encouraging others do the same!
